Madikwe Reserve Madikwe Reserve A protected area in South Africa, Madikwe Game Reserve opened in 1991 and was named after the Madikwe or Marico River. The Reserve used to be farm land however after extensive research, it was utilized as a national park to economically uplift the area. Currently, it is the fifth largest game reserve, a hidden gem and one of the best conservation areas in Africa.

The contrast between suburb and township is mirrored nationwide, but is more extreme here because of the intense wealth of many of the suburbs, and the sheer size of the townships and their satellite squatter camps.
