Rediscover the wonders of nature and the stillness of the mind on this scenic blend of the Portuguese and the Spiritual routes of the Camino de Santiago. The walk will cover about 75 miles. Take time to reflect, contemplate, meditate, and give this challenge the meaning you prefer, whether spiritual, religious, physical, or just an opportunity to meet like-minded people. After landing in Porto, start your journey by walking across the Portuguese-Spanish border on the bridge over the Minho River. Drive to the coastal town of Baiona and walk the Portuguese Way skirting the Atlantic Ocean to Pontevedra. From there, join the Spiritual Variant towards the Ulla River in Cambados and experience a boat cruise to Padrón.

The Spiritual Variant is the name given to the route that joins the Camino Portugues, both the Coastal and Central route, with the Traslatio (or Transfer) route. It ends in Santiago de Compostela following the route taken by the remains of the Apostle James, from Jerusalem to Iria Flavia, near Padrón. Discover spectacular landscapes and seascapes, seize the opportunity to discover historical places, and enjoy the authentic cuisine of the Galician region.

Evening Mass will be available in most towns for those who wish to attend. In Santiago de Compostela you can attend Pilgrim Mass. You will receive the Compostela Certificate upon completion of the entire route on foot.

Cambados Cambados The capital of Albariño Wine Country and recognized for its fruity white wines, Cambados, Spain is located in the industrial north west coast of Galicia in the province of Pontevedra. This noble village upholds its title seen through the medieval 16th century Santa Marina ruins, Fefinans Square, and the San Bieto Church. Spanish country is coherent in Cambados’ seafood dishes and is eaten in most holidays and huge events. The famed Albariño wine is a perfect pair for the seafood dishes and celebrated between the months of July and August.

Santiago de Compostela Santiago de Compostela Santiago de Compostela is now considered by UNESCO to be a World Heritage Site and attracts visitors from all over the world thanks to its fantastic monuments. The town is named after the Apostle Saint James ("Santiago"), who is buried here. In 2000 Santiago de Compostela was given the title of European Cultural Capital. Santiago is certainly one of Spain's most monumental towns, with a particular architectonical style all of its own. But it is as well a town plenty of life, with one of the most famous Universities and a large number of students who guarantee youthful ambience inbetween the historical walls. Pontevedra Pontevedra Pontevedra was named after an old Roman bridge that connected the Spanish town to the Lerez River. The word itself translates to "old bridge" and remains in place today. Located in the north-west of the Iberian Peninsula, the town is centered in the Rias Baixas, four estuarine inlets off the coast of Galicia.
Vigo Vigo Vigo is Galicia's most populated city, with the most important port. The historic quarter is very charming and well preserved.	Destination Guide
Porto (Oporto) Porto (Oporto) Porto (Oporto), Portugal's second largest city, is full of interest, and the district it heads offers the visitor plenty to see. Along the coast, there are resorts like the cosmopolitan beach of Espinho, busy ports like Matosinhos, with splendid seafood, or traditional fishing towns like Póvoa de Varzim, and there is also an animated casino. Charming Amarante has 17th century mansions overlooking the river and is famous for a sweet egg pastries called "papos de anjo" (angel bellies). In Vila Nova de Gaia, there are lodges where Port wine is blended and aged and where tasting are offered, or visitors may take a river cruise along the Douro.
