10-Nights Kenya Family Safari: Lake Naivasha, Samburu, Masai Mara & More

On arrival in Nairobi, you will be transferred to your hotel set in 25 acres of tropical gardens. The next day, you will visit the Giraffe Centre run by a non-profit organization whose main objective is conservation education for school children and youth in Kenya. It is the home of Rothschild’s giraffe that can be fed by visitors. Then visit the Daphne Sheldrick orphanage which is involved in rescue and rehabilitation of elephants. Later, drive for 2 hours to the floor of the Great Rift Valley which runs over 6000 kilometres/3700 miles along the African continent. Stay 2 nights at the Great Rift Valley Lodge near Naivasha which is located at 2150 metres/7000 feet with amazing panoramic views of the surrounding countryside. 

The following day is spent at Lake Naivasha. In the morning, a resident naturalist will take you and your family on a bird walk with the intent to teach children important birding skills. After that, each child will get to plant their own tree to aid reforestation. In the afternoon, children will be offered a free golf class.

Depart next from Naivasha and head to the Ol Pejeta Conservancy which has played an important role in the conservation of the Black Rhino. In the afternoon, enjoy a game drive. Spend 2 nights at the Sweetwaters Serena Camp one of the most exclusive tented safari camps in Kenya. The following day is spent in the Ol Pejeta Conservancy where activities include visits to the Morani Centre, a chimpanzee sanctuary, tracking lions and game drives.

The next morning, drive to the Samburu National Reserve with its large population of elephants and buffalo. Stay 2 nights here. Enjoy 2 days of game drives. Children will have special activities organized for them.

Continue from here to the Masai Mara for a 3 night stay at the Mara Intrepids Camp, a luxury tented camp. Here you will enjoy 2 full days of game drives. Children will be educated through various activities on site as part of the Adventurers Club and Young Rangers Club. On your last morning, there will be one more game drive before transferring to the landing strip for your return flight to Nairobi.

Samburu National Reserve Samburu National Reserve Samburu National Reserve is not very well-known, but definitely worth a visit. It is situated on the banks of the Ewaso Nyiro river in Kenya. Ol Pejeta Ol Pejeta Ol Pejeta Conservancy  is a 90,000 acre wildlife reserve situated between the foot hills of the Aberdares and the magnificent snowcapped Mount Kenya. Ol Pejeta Conservancy boasts an astounding variety of animals including the non-indigenous chimpanzees and the big 5 (the endangered black rhino, leopard, elephant, buffalo and lion). The combination of amazing wildlife and stunning views across the open plains of Ol Pejeta guarantees an unforgettable safari experience.
Lake Naivasha Lake Naivasha Lake Naivasha, Kenya, located 50 mi/80 km northwest of Nairobi, is most commonly visited as an overnight stop by tours going from Masai Mara to Lake Nakuru. It's a shame, because there's a lot to see around the lake itself. The waters are loaded with hippos and birds, and you can go fishing. It's a good place to relax for a few days at the country hotels on the lakeshore—an alternative to the coast. If you have time, take a pleasant boat trip to Crescent Island, one of the few game-viewing areas where visitors can walk around and set up a tripod to photograph animals. Also near the lake is Joy Adamson's former home, which is now a museum dedicated to her life and important conservation work in Kenya. There, you can visit the museum, see a documentary film about her life and enjoy a cup of tea among the giant acacia trees on the lawns.	Destination Guide
Nairobi Nairobi Nairobi is Kenya's capital and one of Africa's most modern and fastest growing major cities. The original center retains Asian influence in its older buildings with glassy modern buildings. Visit City Market with local produce and handicrafts. Other attractions are: National Museum, displaying ethnographic, paleontological and ornithological exhibits; the Arboretum, with an excellent collection of East African flora; the University, known for its unique architecture; the excellent Kenya Railway Museum; and Nairobi's landmark, the extraordinary Kenyatta Conference Center, the country's most monumental building, visible from miles outside the city.
