Get ready to be wowed by the stunning contrasts of Morocco on this action-packed adventure. From the windswept dunes of the Sahara to the vibrant streets of Tangier, Chefchaouen, Fés, Casablanca, and Marrakech, you’ll experience both the north and south in all their glory. Kick things off in coastal Tangier before exploring bustling medinas, the ancient ruins of Volubilis, and historical gems in Meknes. Then, head south to Marrakech and beyond to the Sahara, where the sun blazes, the dunes stretch endlessly, and the sky feels limitless. Spend a magical night at a desert camp near an oasis, sleeping under a sky full of stars, and prepare to be blown away by how perfectly this journey brings it all together.
Highlights
Wander through the gorgeous scenery of the famous ‘Blue City’ of Morocco on a walking tour with your CEO, Take part in the guided Rif Mountain hike ending with goat cheese making led by a local family, Sit down for a dinner of regional specialities at a local restaurant in Fés, Hike or ride a camel in the Sahara, Sleep under the stars in a desert camp, Ride a 4x4 to an oasis to catch sunset
Accomodation
On this trip you can expect to stay in local hotels and desert camps, which vary a little in standard and facilities: some may not have elevators, air-conditioning, showers or English-speaking staff, but most importantly all are locally-run, with some traditional character, and in excellent central locations to give you maximum time for exploring the sights. Please note that Morocco is a developing country and as such the infrastructure is not as reliable as you would expect at home. Expect quirky plumbing and the odd cold shower. This itinerary includes one night at a developed desert camp that includes a restaurant, toilet facilities, and simple showers, and two nights at a simple camp with pop-up tents and portable toilets. There will be no access to showers on these days.
Group Leader
This G Adventures group trip is accompanied by one of our group leaders, otherwise known as a Chief Experience Officer (CEO). As the group coordinator and manager, the aim of the CEO is to take the hassle out of your travels and to help you have the best trip possible. You can expect them to have a broad general knowledge of Morocco, including historical, cultural, religious and social aspects. They will also offer suggestions for things to do and to see, recommend great local eating venues and introduce you to our local friends. We also use certified local city guides where we think more specific knowledge will add to the enjoyment of the places we are visiting - we think it's the best of both worlds.
